Creating Coupons Manually

Overview

You may need to create a small number of coupons to provide discounts and incentives for specific clients. Also, you can create a multi-use coupon that can be used for promotion among a large number of consumers.

Please note that coupons are not available to Wholesalers.

From Symphony Manage, navigate to Discounts > Coupons.
Click on the New button.
On the new page, specify all the settings for your coupon:
- You can Enter A Code that you like or Generate a unique code automatically.
- Specify the coupon value and type - coupon can provide free shipping, percentage discount, or fixed discount in USD.
- Specify the duration of the coupon by selecting Start and End Dates.
- Select the required tax code or leave it as Unspecified.
- Configure the Coupon Targeting by selecting one of the following options:
  - Entire Cart: the discount will apply to the total amount of the order, including shipping costs.
  - Items Before Shipping: the discount will apply to the total price of products in the order, excluding shipping costs.
  - Set conditions: find the required items and Include them in the coupon - the discount will apply only to the selected categories and products; also, you can Exclude certain items/categories for the coupon - the discount will apply to all products in the order except excluded ones.
    Note: You need to select at least one product; otherwise, the coupon will have no effect.
    - If you are having trouble finding a specific product, you can enter its Product ID in the search bar. To find the ID, navigate to Catalog > Products and open the required item - the ID is displayed at the top of the page.
- Specify how many times the coupon can be used by customers.
- Configure additional settings for the coupon (Optional):
  - Specify if the subtotal of the order must be greater than a specific value to be able to apply the coupon.
  - Specify if the discount should apply only to a specific amount for the order. For example, the 20% discount will apply only to the first 100$ of the order.
  - Specify if the coupon can be used by the same user more than once; the user will need to enter their email address before checkout.
  - Specify how many times the coupon can be used for a single order (cart); only applicable to coupons that provide a discount for specific products.
- Enter additional notes for the coupon if needed.
Once you finished configuring all settings, click Save.
